The Fairmont Royal Pavilion

Imagine waking up to a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea, and you haven’t even got out of bed yet!

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, located on the beautiful West Coast of Barbados is unique in its positioning alongside a powder-soft sand beach, with rooms so close to the ocean’s edge, that you will wake to the sound of the waves lapping into shore. Set in 11 1/2 acres of lush tropical gardens, this intimate hotel has 72 deluxe guestrooms which all boast unrivalled ocean views. The comfortable 112 square foot patios provide the perfect vantage point to enjoy many breathtaking sunsets. Guestrooms have been designed to blend with the rich colonial architecture of Barbados, portrayed by exotic wood and cane furniture, light ceramic floor tiles and rattan panels, which grace the built-in armoire doors.

Wireless HSIA is available throughout the hotel, and complimentary to all guests.  Additional complimentary features at the hotel include a full compliment of water sports activities, flood lit tennis courts, DVD, CD’s and book libraries. Of particular delight, is the thoroughly British tradition of daily, complimentary afternoon teas served in the exquisite setting of Taboras Terrace. Barbados often referred to as "Little England" has retained much of the genteel manners of its past heritage. Afternoon tea on the Terrace endears itself to all guests regardless of origin as they enjoy a selection of freshly made scones, finger sandwiches and dainty pastries along with quality teas.

When the sun goes down, the Palm Terrace restaurant offers Chef Patrick Dore’s contemporary Caribbean cuisine at the water’s edge, overlooking the hotel’s half a mile of beachfront. A wide selection of nightly entertainment provides a variety of moods for dancing or easy listening. Alternative, casual bistro and barbeque nights are also offered at Café Taboras, the all-day dining restaurant situated by the freshwater pool with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

For the nights when guests venture out for dinner, fine dining restaurants and more casual local fare can be found 5 minutes away by taxi in nearby Holetown. This seaside historical town where the first British settlers landed in 1627 is definitely worth a visit. A fine example of British architecture can be seen in the three hundred year old St. James church. Holetown is also famous for its colourful annual festivals, crafts, and duty-free shopping. For guests wanting to explore, some of the Island’s most popular attractions, such as the wildlife reserve sanctuary of the indigenous green monkey and Harrison’s cave filled with underwater streams, lakes and waterfalls are just 20-30 minutes drive away.

On return to The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, guests can chose to be pampered with a personalised in-room spa service, or perhaps head to the beach to enjoy the services of the beach butlers. In addition to providing soothing cold towels and complimentary beach amenities such as frozen fruit kebabs, the beach butlers also offer a full concierge on the beach service.

An elegant and secluded hideaway capturing the warmth and style of a Barbadian home, this triple A four diamond hotel has built up an enviable reputation for service and luxury – an enchanting retreat that will leave you feeling pampered, refreshed and revived.
